WhatsApp Adds Yet Another Amazing Feature For Groups

WhatsApp has added yet another amazing and equally useful update to their messaging app. This latest update features group voice and video calls. With this new feature, members of groups can make simultaneous video calls with 4 members of a group they belong to.

This new feature was seen in Facebook messenger a year ago and we envisaged that it was just a matter of time before this group video and voice calling feature got to WhatsApp.

This new whatsApp group feature allows you to make  group video and voice calls with up to four people total anytime and anywhere.

In their press statement yesterday, WhatsApp said

We’re excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today

How to Whatsapp Video and Audio Calls in Groups

  1. Start a video with a single participant. After , Tap on the ‘Add participant’ icon at the top right corner of the app.
  2. Your contact list is then displayed from which you are allowed to Select 4 participants to talk to.
  3. When adding a participant to a  video call, the contact will be notified of the call as well as the other selected participants.
  4. The Group Voice and Video Calling Feature allows you to add each participant at a time.
  5. After all the participants have accepted the invitation, the screen will split into four screens with each member featuring in each box.
  6. People can be added only by the caller/host who starts the call.

In terms of how secured the group video and voice calling is every single call  is always end-to-end encrypted.

To get this new feature you just have to update your WhatsApp application on Play Store and App Store Now.
