It’s the Notch Season and Nokia X is coming with one

HMD Global the manufacturer of Nokia is not relenting on their quest to penetrate the smartphone industry.  Between the last quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of this year, the smartphone manufacturer has made a lot of inrows by providing some of the best mid-range phones on the market today. Some of which are : Nokia 5, 6, 7, 7 plus, 8, 9, Sirrocco and the top secret yet to be announced “Nokia X”.

This year seems to be the year of the “Notch”. Almost all the top smartphone manufacturers across the global are buying into the iPhone X Notch design.

Suggestive images have already been spotted HMD Global event live events this year. The device, which features model number TA-1099 and goes by the name Nokia X, would be the tenth handset (excluding 2018 editions and variants) released by HMD Global.

The images were picked up by Nokiamob (via Baidu Nokibar) earlier today and reveal the handset sitting on a display table at an unnamed (presumably Asian) event. While we can’t vouch for the source of the information, it looks legit, and the device was tipped to launch in China today.

The handset may be known in other regions as the Nokia X6. That device has been previously rumored with a different design, but it’s possible that the other renders were inaccurate. It’s also possible that they were accurate and the X6 is simply a separate device under the “X” banner. Until HMD Global makes an official announcement, we can only speculate.

The Nokia X6 is rumored to house a 5.8-inch display with 19:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 636 chipset, and 6GB RAM. A low-end variant, with a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and 4GB RAM, has also been hinted at.

The Nokia X6 or whatever they’re gonna name it is expected to be a China only variant, right? And I can understand why Nokia made a phone like this.
You see, people in China love iPhones and obviously iPhones are way expensive there and most of them can’t afford or don’t want to spend over $1000 for the iPhone X, so people just buy these notched phones and all sorts of copycats which looks like the X for about 1/4th of price.

Nokia knows that there’s a huge demand for these type of phones in China and that could be the reason we’re seeing this design. Lol.

So you think it’s right for Nokia to copy Apple because people want that design?
