Whatsapp Gets Verified Account Feature for Businesses

Just like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, WhatsApp is rumoured to integrate the verified business feature in the World’s most patronized messaging app. The WhatsApp verified feature will be meant for legit businesses only we hear.

The feature is being tested on the Windows Phone beta app and will be released soon on the Android beta version of the app.

The verified business feature we be integrated to help  increasing the convenience with which users communicate with businesses . This is aimed at helping reduce fraud on the messaging platform. Conversations between users and businesses cannot be deleted if initiated. This will be a means to track and prove legitimacy of the claims made either by consumers or businesses.

According to WABetaInfo,  Facebook-owned Social Messaging app has already began testing the verified contacts feature on the Windows Phone Platform. Business Accounts with a green badge and white tick mark next to a contact’s name, you can be assured has been verified by the company as a business profile.




How Whatsapp Verified Business Profiles Work

WhatsApp will also let you know when you start talking to a business via yellow messages inside a chat. There is no way to delete these messages from the chat. If you already have a business’s phone number saved in your address book, the name you will see is the name you have saved in your address book, the company said in its post.

In case you don’t have a business’ phone number stored in your address book, you will see the name that the business has chosen for its own self inside the app. Also, in case you don’t want any business to bother you on WhatsApp, you will always have the option to block them, just like any other contact.
