Facebook Inc. has successfully added the video feature of sorts to most of their main Social Media applications like Messenger and now it’s the turn of whatsapp. WhatsApp has started rolling out video call feature on its messaging app. At the moment, some Windows Phone users are able to get the feature on their devices without any need to reinstall the app. The Video calling feature is expected to to rolled out on Android but only for beta testers and iOS soon. Facebook after Instagram Stories is trying to capture the entire market with this next move.

WhatsApp’s video calling feature is now live on a beta version of the app (v2.16.80) for Android devices. The APK file, which is ready for download from APK Mirror as well, has the new feature live on it. The Video Calling feature is currently available on Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, Hangouts, KakaoTalk, Viber.

But WhatsApp’s video calling will be revolutionary in many ways in a sense that WhatsApp has close to 1 billion monthly active users, claims to have end-to-end encrypted and we hope WhatsApp will extend the same to their Video Calling feature.

The new beta app gives access to video-calling function from the call icon, but it isn’t functional just yet. The app is available to beta testers from Google Play’s beta testing program.

Report reaching Tech Habor from states that many Windows Phone users are now seeing the option to make video calls in WhatsApp beta app and some users are reporting the changes without any need to re-install the application.

According to Windows Central, WhatsApp’s  Video calling feature  is now available for at least some users to try out in the WhatsApp  Beta for Windows Phone. The video calls will be available to users who have made their account available to test beta apps. This news is yet to reach users of Android and iOS. We hope it comes as soon as possible.

Getting the video calling feature to show users would have be require reinstalling the WhatsApp Beta app. One important point worth noting is that it looks like trying to initiate a video call with someone who doesn’t yet have the feature will simply result in an error message.

Do you have access to video calling in the WhatsApp Beta app? If Yes Please let us be  know about your experience with the video calling  feature and don’t forget to drop your comments and suggestions in the box below. Thanks
